The article by Eugenia Verenko, head of the FSU desk, looks into how British and Russian lawyers use social media for business purposes, and, in some cases, to win clients.
The major finding in the survey is that over half of the respondents in Britain had won business as a direct result of their engagement on LinkedIn or Twitter.
The article goes on to highlight the fact that social media should be treated with caution as there are a number of potential risks when allowing employees to engage in social media without proper consideration.
The article also looks at how Russian law firms use social media and the most popular channels for them. As it happens, legal businesses in Russia seem to favour Facebook, whereas in Britain LinkedIn is more popular.
In any case, both UK and Russian law firms are engaging in social media more and more. Those firms that are not already moving towards digital will soon be left behind.
