Byfield were instructed by a top 30 UK law firm to provide litigation support for the claimant in a case involving alleged theft of trade secrets. The international case involved legal action in the UK High Court and the Indian High Court, as well as in other jurisdictions in Europe and further afield. Mareva injunctions were granted, freezing the assets of the defendants, as the case progressed with our client seeking an accounting for of profits and substantial damages.
We handled all media relations in this case, including rebuttal of misinformation and careful reputation management. The case was covered extensively in the UK, Indian and other international media, as well as in specialist press covering our client’s sector. Our role was to ensure that journalists were fully briefed on the facts of the case and why it was important for our client to take timely action to protect their intellectual property and assert their rights.
