Litigation guru creates agency

The litigation PR specialist who advised Michael Jackson following the Martin Bashir documentary has set up his own legal PR shop.
Richard Elsen’s new venture, The Byfield Consultancy, will offer retained PR services for legal firms, as well as specific litigation and crisis PR projects.
The agency has been co-founded with Gus Sellitto, previously of specialist professional services consultancy Kysen PR.
Elsen said the plan was to be ‘five or six strong’ within 12 months. He added: ‘There have been lots of changes in the legal world. When the Legal Services Bill becomes an Act, we will see law firms floating and multi-discipline practices – barristers and lawyers will need to raise their profiles as it will be so much more competitive.’
